Mawred would like to announce that, based on a mutual agreement, the collaboration between the organization and its current Director, Alma Salem, will not be renewed.
Both parties have agreed to enter a transition period until 31 August 2026, with a shared commitment to ensure the best possible conditions for the continuity of the organization’s work, the long-term sustainability of its role and the wider impact of its activities in the region. As of 1 September, Deputy Director Rana Harik will take on responsibility until a new Director is appointed.
We would like to jointly express our gratitude for this period of collaboration, which has been characterised by Ms. Alma Salem’s dedication, expertise and professional skills, as well as by her contribution to raising the organization’s profile in a particularly unstable local, regional and international context, and we wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
Finally, we would like to affirm that the organization’s work will not be interrupted during this period and that the team will continue to implement the current programs and activities.
