Culture Resource has inaugurated El Genaina Theatre at Al-Azhar Park on April 28, 2005. El Genaina Theatre is a semi open-air stage with approximately 300 seats, located next to the Ayyoubi Wall on the Park's western border. The Theatre was designed by the Young Arab Theatre Fund, which also oversaw its execution. It is the product of collaboration between Al-Azhar Park's administration and Culture Resource, in their joint quest for cultural development. The building of the theatre was concluded in eight months. Culture Resource hopes to develop El Genaina's facilities and get it completely covered during the upcoming year.
El Genaina Theatre aims to attract a wide audience of young people, by presenting various musical and theatrical performances throughout the year, mostly by independent groups from Egypt and the Arab region. It also aims to present artistic experiments that are both innovative and distinguished, showcasing those who seek to explore new horizons.
El Genaina Theatre has since its inauguration presented various musical performances by contemporary as well as traditional groups from Egypt and the Arab world.
