Culture Resource is now accepting applications for the Imkan workshop, a cultural leadership training program for young cultural leaders from the Arab region. The workshop will take place in Lebanon from May 19-26, 2016.
The aim of the Imkan program is to support and strengthen the skills of Arab cultural operators so that they are able to play a prominent role in supporting the cultural sector. To that end, the program aims to provide them with experiences, knowledge and skills that will better equip them to cope with ever-changing environment in the cultural field and to have a greater ability to influence and develop the field.
The workshop works on two tracks: one focuses on the analysis and study of issues facing the cultural field, including cultural policy, the role of arts in culture in political and social change, and the development of cultural organisations, and the other focusing on developing leadership, audience building, and other skills related to the economy of the creative industry.
Qualified candidates should:
- Be an Arab residing and working in an Arab country
- Possess no less than 5 years background in cultural management
- Be fluent in the Arabic language (written and spoken), as all training activities are in Arabic
