Mawa3eed Results 2016

March 2016 round:

Maen Hasbani received a grant to travel from Brussels to Tunisia to give a workshop in cinema and photography to the youth of Bani Mtir, in the governorate of Jendoba in Tunisia. The workshop is organized by the Tunisian association L’Art Vivant under the umbrella of Culture Resource program Tunis Balad Al Fann.

Hasan Suleiman received a grant to travel from Cairo to Tunisia to give a drawing workshop to the children of Bani Mtir in the governorate of Jendoba in Tunisia. The workshop is organized by the Tunisian association L’Art Vivant under the umbrella of Culture Resource program Tunis Balad Al Fann.

Shirin Hijazi received a grant to travel from Cairo to Tunisia to give a dance workshop to the children of Bani Mtir in the governorate of Jendoba in Tunisia. The workshop is organized by the Tunisian association L’Art Vivant under the umbrella of Culture Resource program Tunis Balad Al Fann.

Mansour El Sherif Mansour received a grant to travel from Cairo to Kelibia – Tunisia to give workshops about the production stages of animation films for children. Mansour will also show his films for children as a parallel event to the 31st edition of The International Festival of Amateurs Films in Kelibia-Tunisia.

Nancy Naous received a grant to travel from Paris to Beirut to prepare a contemporary dance performance in collaboration with the Lebanese dancer and choreographer Alexandre Paulikevich.

Milad Abou Moussa received a grant to travel from Beirut to Tunisia to give workshops to children and youth about cinematic language. Abou Moussa will show his films that target children as an audience as a parallel event to the 31st edition of The International Festival of Amateurs Films in Kelibia-Tunisia.

Haytham Abdel Hamid received a grant to travel from Cairo to Beirut to participate in Tripoli International Film Festival that is organized yearly to enrich the cinematic movement in North Lebanon. The festival received 227 films from the entire world of which only 53 films were selected. “Behind the doors of silence” of Haytham Abdel Hamid is one of the selected films.

Eyad Houssami received a grant to invite Sobhi Shami from London and Taghrid Shoukair from Leipzig – Germany to Beirut to continue their work on “T. Jane Family”, a project of Masrah Ensemble that started in September 2015 with the support of Culture Resource.

Wael Jegham received a grant to support his travel with 4 musicians from France to Tunisia to give the first concert of the album “Halib el Ghoula / The ogress milk” on the occasion of the World Music Da. The concert will take place in the Tunisian capital’s Habib Bourguiba Street. In addition to the concert, Jegham will attend a workshop on music, mixing sounds, and sound improvements which will be carried out by a French expert.

Ayman Massoud received a grant to support his travel with 5 musicians from the Massar Egbari band from Cairo to Beirut to give a concert at Metro Al Madina.

Samar Haddad King received a grant to support her travel with 7 artists of the group of “If the sun” performance. The artists come from Palestine, Lebanon, and Morocco and will travel to Jordan in order to participate in the 10th edition of the Zakharif in Motion Dance Festival in Amman.

Ramzi Abou Radwan received a grant to support his travel with 12 Palestinian musicians from Kamandjati association from Ramallah to Beirut. The musicians will participate in an artistic residency in Saint Michel – Maasser Al Chouf with 7 Palestinian musicians living in Lebanon. The musicians will perform on August 11 in the UNESCO Palace.

Souad Mohamed Suleiman Ahmad received a grant to travel from Cairo to Agadir – Morocco to attend the 4th edition of Agadir’s Novel Encounters that combines between critical thinking and creativity. The encounters have already hosted numerous literary names from a variety of Arab countries.

June 2016 round:

Karim Touwayma: Received a grant to travel from Tunisia to Morocco with 5 members of the team of the theatrical play “Bori” to present the play within the framework of “The Choreographic Encounters of Casablanca”.

Alaa Ghawas: Received a grant to travel from Bahrain to Egypt with 5 members of the musical band “Likwid” to participate in the 8th edition of “Cairo Jazz Festival”, and it will be the first Bahraini band to participate in this festival.

Yassine El Ihtirassi: Received a grant to travel from Morocco to Palestine with 8 members of the team Colokolo to present the play “Qahwa Noss Noss” in the framework of Ramallah Circus Festival.

Wassim Al Kurdi: Received a grant to support the travel of 28 instructor, conductor and activist who work with kids and who are chosen by Abdel Mohsin Al-Qattan Foundation, from Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman and Palestine to Jordan to implement the program “Drama in an educational context” which is one of AM Qattan Foundation programs.

Oraib Toukan: Received a grant to travel from England to Palestine to present her Artworks in the 5th edition of “Cities Exhibition” that takes place in Birzeit town.

Samo El Taweal: Received a grant to travel with 2 members of the musical band “Telepoetic” from Egypt to Jordan to participate in a musical workshop with Jordanian band “Zaed Naes”, and to give a concert in Maestro Theater in Amman which will be the first concert for the band in Jordan.

September 2016 round:

Al-Hilal Ahmed Mawloud: Received a grant to support the travel of five trainers in filmmaking from Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and Libya to take part in the Nouakchott International Short Film Festival in Mauritania.

Aliya al-Khalidi: Received a grant to support the travel of the team of the theater play “Anbara”, from Lebanon to Tunisia to participate in the 18th edition of the Carthage Theatre Days Festival.

Fairouz Nastas: Received a grant to support her travel from Palestine to Egypt to conduct a training workshop as part of the International Alexandrian Puppetry Festival.

Malika Chaghal: The grant will support the travel expenses for the live music and video show, Love and Revenge, whose members come from France, Germany and Lebanon to participate in the opening ceremonies of the 10th anniversary celebrations of Cinémathèque de Tanger in Morocco.

Sabine Choucair:  Received a grant to support the travel of the members of the theater group Caravana to travel from Lebanon to Tunisia to perform at the Carthage Theatre Days Festival.

Yacine Boulares: Received a grant to support his travel with 5 musicians from the US and France to perform at the Sicca Jazz Festival in Tunisia.

December 2016 round:

Rabee’ Hanani (Palestine), writer and theatre director: The grant supports the travel costs of the members of the Kark’a Ensemble to Tunisia  to present the play Anaser (Elements) in the second edition of the Jamna Theatre festival.

Hameed Alrubiee (Iraq), member of the Writers Federation and Fiction Club: The grant is to enable him and two other members of the Iraqi Writers Federation and Fiction Club to travel to Egypt in order to take part the Cairo Literature Festival which includes among its activities book signing sessions and cultural seminars.

Beshoy Adel (Egypt), actor and theatre director: The grant supports the costs of the Joker theatre company travel to Tunisia to perform Ayam Safra (Yellow days) at the Thala Cultural Palace, in the Kasserine Governorate, and contribute to a joint workshop on the fringes of this event.

Mohamed Fariji (Morocco), artist: The grant enables three members of the “Citizenship for the Collective Memory of the City” project to take part in the Sharjah Residency Program in the UAE. This residency is one of several programmes organised by the Sharjah Arts Foundation.

Ramzi Jebabli (Tunisia) of the Culture and Development Association: The grant supports this association to invite the Jordanian band Autostrade, to take part in the Sicca Jazz Festival at Kef, Tunisia.

Othman El Kheloufi jazz band (Morocco): The band received a grant  to support the travel of its six members from Morocco, Belgium and the Ivory Coast to Jordan where they will perform in the sixth edition of the Amman Jazz Festival.
