Remix in Egypt, Again!
The second Arab youth music platform, Remix, was held in Egypt during the period 25 September to 1 October 2005. Remix was held for the first time last year and had attracted a large number of young Arab musicians.
Remix is organized by Al Mawred Al Thaqafy and is led artistically by the Egyptian composer Fathy Salama. This year Remix includes 20 young musicians from Morocco, Tunis, Egypt, Palestine, Syria, Lebanon and Turkey. The platform took place in a resort near Lake Marryout and was concluded with concerts in the Bibliotecha Alexandrina on Thursday 29 September and in El Genaina Theatre in Al Azhar Park on Friday 30 September.
Remix is an encounter of musicians from different countries and diverse music traditions, oriental and western. It gives the participants the opportunity to experience new musical styles, to experiment with each other and perform to a wide audience.The participants in Remix 2005 are:
