It was a heavy year for us all, but 2020 is over and we’re still here! We’re gathering our strength so we, as individual artists and cultural workers and as organizations involved in arts and culture, can rally our concerted efforts against all emergent challenges.
In our annual team meeting we reflected on the challenges and achievements of this year and shared our thoughts on our plans for the upcoming year. We’ve taken our motto this year from one of our programs which we designed at a gruelling time for the Arab region: Stand for Art (Kon ma’ el-fann). When we take a stand for art, we take a stand for our freedom of imagination and expression, meaning our right to exist.
