Heba El Cheikh is a strategist and consultant in the field of art management and creative entrepreneurship. She curated, produced and organized projects in public spaces and different communities all over Egypt.
She studied French literature, translation and journalism. In 2012, she received her Master’s degree in Arts Management, with a special focus on community arts and evaluation at Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU), the Netherlands. She is a Clore Fellow for 2016-2017. She is a steering committee member at Circostrada Network for circus and street arts in Europe.
In 2011, she co-founded Mahatat for contemporary art that believes in democratizing and decentralizing arts, making them accessible to everyone through community art projects.
In 2013, she published her thesis titled “Community Arts Evaluation Practices in Egypt”, Lap Lambert Academic Publishing. In 2017, she published her first travel book with Kotobna self-publishing house.
