INTERFERENCE is a collective of arts and cultural actors and curators who have been working to foster and develop cultural and artistic projects since 2016. The organization began as an initiative to establish the first contemporary light art festival in Tunisia and Africa. The festival is a biannual event set in the urban fabric of the Medina of Tunis that exhibits artworks whose themes center around light. As a result of this experience, a nucleus of young artists and cultural actors coalesced around the aim of transforming the festival into a collective dedicated to organizing other innovative cultural projects.

INTER-MEDE (Alliance between Interference and Medearts)
INTER-MEDE Alliance carries forward the work initiated in 2024, seeking to strengthen the partnership between both organizations by promoting a shared approach to research-based thinking and experimenting through new institutional designs and models including role exchange between current leaders. The goal is to empower both cultural entities by ensuring they operate effectively through strong working systems and by building a capable local team (the next generation) ready to contribute and drive development.

Sharing the Art Experience
The project aims to organize a series of meetings within the LAB core group to share the Art experience, discuss and debate what is Art from the Arab region, allowing the synchronization of language and thinking within the LAB core group, and building-up in that sense the continuity of this nucleus network.
As part of these meetings, Interference will be organizing and implementing the physical annual meeting of the LAB core group in Tunis in 2024 by:
collecting the needs, wishes and aspirations of the LAB core group for the collective physical meeting;
drafting the detailed agenda of the meeting by suggesting the joint cultural work priorities to be discussed collectively and the cultural field visits that can be included;
constantly coordinating with the LAB core group the exhaustive logistical aspects of their travel to attend the meeting.
