SHAMS is a Lebanese artistic and cultural association founded in 1999 and aims to support young talents in theater, dance, music, and digital and audiovisual arts.
The association implements artistic and cultural projects in several Lebanese regions and works in partnership with many Lebanese, Syrian, Egyptian, Jordanian, Palestinian, French and Italian organizations. It is also a founding member of Tamasi Collective.
In 2005, Shams established and managed the Sunflower cultural space for production, diffusion, training, incubation of young artistic groups, exchanges, debates, meetings and documentation. It is well located to communicate with all Lebanese segments.
The association aims to support and promote young creation, develop professional training for young artists, stimulate debate within civil society, preserve the memory of culture, promote the enrichment of cultural programs, develop artistic and intellectual exchanges and participate in the Euro-Mediterranean culture.
SHAMS offers several activities such as incubating, productions, diffusions, festivals, workshops, seminars, debates and exchanges locally, regionally and internationally.
