Travel Plan: Nashwa Matouk will participate in a two-month artistic residency in Can Serrat Arts, Barcelona. She will be working on an artistic project inspired by Islamic architecture, with a particular focus on arabesque design, as exemplified in wooden latticework (i.e. mashrabiya windows), and how its constituent elements can be translated visually into a costume that could be worn in a live dance performance.
