Abir Ali Hozein

Abeer Ali, an Egyptian theatre director, was chosen for her production of a new play based on George Orwell’s “1984”. The original book is a dystopian novel, set in England during a time of war, about a tyrant regime that persecutes individualism and freedom, and follows the manipulation of the public by the state and the persecution system created around ‘thought as crime’. Culture Resource announced a one-time award of 10,000 USD in honor of the great Tunisian director Ezzedine Gannoun, 40 days after of his passing. The aim of the award was to support an Arab theater director for the production of a new performance.
