The Bussy Project

A collaborative project between two groups that, in their own contexts, have explored storytelling as a powerful tool that can reflect realities that are often unrecognized or not discussed enough. In this collaboration, the BuSSy project and the Knowledge Workshop will explore how women relate to the sounds of their cities and to the cities, themselves, and explore how this shapes their identities and their relationship with with their bodies.

Gebeliya Narrates is a women’s initiative that aims to bridge the gap between the women of the Gebeliya tribe and other women across Egypt and the world. The project is built upon two main pillars: documentation and production. Under documentation, storytelling nights will be organized, along with recorded and filmed interviews through photographs taken by the locals to document their environment from their unique perspectives. As for production, the focus will be on creating handmade crafts through workshops led by designers to develop innovative products. A website will be created to publish these materials and promote the handmade products.
