Fatima Kilani is a marketing teacher and researcher at the University of Carthage (IHEC Carthage).
In 2007, she founded La Boîte, a non-profit contemporary art organization, based in a company located in La Charguia, an industrial district of Tunis (Tunisia).
Through La Boîte, Kilani aims to promote new artistic projects, supporting artists in all the stages of their artistic process: research (residencies in Vienna and Tunis), production/exhibition with solo shows organized in Tunis (in two venues: La Charguia and the Sainte-Monique Chapel/IHEC Carthage) and in other regions of Tunisia (Gabès).
She is also committed to mediating contemporary art to La Boîte’s audiences through publications, talks/ conferences, and workshops, in parallel with a research program on different topics relating to the audiences’ perception of contemporary art in Tunisia.
Since 2018, La Boîte focused on art video, through El Kazma, an art video exhibition organized in Gabès, in parallel with the Gabès Cinema Fen, a festival dedicated to Arab cinema.
