Kon Ma3a El Fann (Be with Art) Program participates this year in Shubbak, London’s largest biennial festival of contemporary Arab culture, organized in the period 1–16 July 2017.

Within a broader framework of cooperation between Al Mawred Al Thaqafy and Shubbak Festival, Kon Ma3a El Fann will participate in a panel discussion as part of the ‘Survival of the Artist’ symposium held at the British Museum on 2 July. The panel discussion will focus on institutional support for artists across the Arab World.  The symposium is mainly about the challenges individuals and institutions face in times of unprecedented challenge.

It will be a full day divided into three sessions, reflecting on how artists and art spaces survive and continue to work in times of civil and political conflict, and on how they respond to the continuing threat to cultural heritage.

Al Mawred Al Thaqafy partners Shubbak Festival through showcasing some Arab artists who are Al Mawred’s associates or ex-beneficiaries.

Kon Ma3a El Fann Kon is the latest programs launched by Al Mawred Al Thaqafy and aims to support the rights of artists and cultural players in the Arab region to live and work in safe environments that guarantee their freedoms of expression and creativity.
