Sulafa Hijazi is a Syrian visual artist, director, and producer based in Berlin-Germany.

She studied at the Higher Institute of the Dramatic Arts in Syria where she majored in dramatic studies, and at the Städelschule Art Academy in Frankfurt Am Main, Germany.

In addition to her artworks, Hijazi began her professional career in 1997 as a writer and director of animation TV series and other film and media production, with a particular focus on children's education and social development. She was also a member of the founding team of Spacetoon, the first free Arabic satellite channel for kids, and a board member of CIFEJ International Center of Films for Children and Young People since 2012.

Hijazi has received more than 12 awards for her work, among them the golden prize in Hollywood, Russia, India, Cairo, and Iran for her latest feature animation The Jasmine Birds.

In 2010, she established Blue.dar, a digital art production house, started between Damascus and Beirut and is now based in Berlin-Germany. Blue.dar has collaborated with a network of international experts including artists, writers, researchers, educators, and animators.

Hijazi’s artworks and illustrations have been exhibited in several galleries in Europe and featured in social media newspapers and internet websites. In addition, some of her artwork has been collected from the British Museum in London, Barjeell Art Foundation in Sharjah, and International Media Support (IMS) In Copenhagen.
