It is now possible to access the complete culture policy profile for six Arab countries – Jordan, Algeria, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon and Egypt – on World CP, the International Database of Cultural Policies. The culture policy profiles offer a comprehensive survey of the state of cultural policies in these countries and are available, in English, on worldcp.org
The publication of these studies on the World CP website is a product of a partnership between the International Federation of Arts Councils and Cultural Agencies (IFACCA), the Culture Resource Foundation, Ettijahat-Independent Culture and the European Cultural Foundation (ECF).
In 2009, Culture Resource launched an initiative that set into motion the studies to compile cultural policy profiles for eight Arab countries (Algeria, Jordan, Morocco, Syria, Tunisia, Egypt, Lebanon and Palestine). The profiles, which are part of the foundation’s Culture Policies program which seeks to monitor and develop cultural policies in the Arab region, were revised and updated in collaboration with Ettijahat. They are also available on the Culture Resource and the “Cultural Policy in The Arab Region” websites.
The Culture Resource Foundation’s initiative to monitor and develop cultural policies in the Arab region, launched in 2009, is part of its drive to support Arab cultural work and improve the environment of cultural work in the Arab region.
