In 2015, the Tunisian Ministry of Culture and Culture Resource have launched a joint initiative called “Tunis Balad El Fann” (Tunisia, the country of art) aiming at training cultural managers in the public and independent sectors in Tunisia. This comes in the context of supporting the cultural sector in Tunisia and building the capacities of its human resources. It also aims at pushing towards the decentralization of cultural services in the country.

The project had two axes; the first was implementing 6 workshops related to cultural management in 6 different Tunisian governorates, and one training of trainers at the end of these 6 workshops. The second axis was supporting 29 innovative cultural projects.

The project has been implemented in line with the strategies and objectives of the Tunisian Ministry of Culture in terms of enabling the cultural stakeholders, promoting the decentralization of the cultural work and boosting the role of Cultural Houses (Maisons de Culture) in the various governorates of Tunisia.
