Hala Galal

Hala Galal is an Egyptian director, scriptwriter, and producer. She directed and produced several films, some of which toured the world and won international prizes. Since 2002, she initiated several education opportunities, providing young potential filmmakers with the basics of filmmaking, and helped create networks to support independent filmmaking in Egypt and the Arab region. She co-founded “SEMAT Production and Distribution” which she has managed since its inception. Hala was a jury member in numerous international, regional, and local festivals. Today she is the president of the Isamilia International Film Festival.
