Sciences Po Paris, UCONN Alumnus and DO School fellow based in Paris, Malik's background is rooted in music and cinema from Constantine. His career spans critical examination and experimentation with evolving and complex cultural and artistic landscapes. Malik explores the conditions, dynamics, forms, and spaces of art-making and diffusion in Algeria and beyond. His early contributions started with the Working Group on Cultural Policy in Algeria, developing the first independent proposals for a concerted cultural policy and an open cultural map, merging research with cartography practices. Malik's artistic project development and curation focuses on interdisciplinarity and public space, with projects involvements such as DJART’14, El Medreb, and No Logo. Malik collaborated extensively with regional independent organizations such as Culture Resource, AFAC, and Arterial Network. He has supported institutional development and international cooperation projects on various scales: for the Algerian Ministry of Culture, the EU Commission, UNESCO, and UNIDO, as well as cultural centers like the French Institute and Goethe Institute.
