The Abbara program launched a three-day workshop on 11 August 2020 for the organizations participating in its sixth round, in the framework of the periodic meetings it is organizing on contemporary issues contributing to building the capacities of organizations.
The workshop included training sessions on organizational sustainability, resource management and business models. Discussion focused on sustainability of non-profit organizations, how they should approach the world of business, and proposals for new models of financial resource development and funding management.
The meeting was attended by 22 participants from the 11 organizations that are receiving support in Abbara 06 as well as a participant from Teranim Center for Popular Arts (Mauritania) which was an Abbara 05 participant. The sessions were facilitated by Anas Darkaoui (Syria), manager of the Civil Society Program of the UK-based Asfari Foundation and an expert in organizational development and sustainability. The second day of the workshop featured a session by the researcher, cultural management trainer and cultural programmer Rana Yazaji (Syria).
