Having completed the first phase of the exceptional Covid-19 component of the Stand for Art program, Culture Resource has launched the component’s second phase and is continuing to receive applications at: [email protected].
Since this initiative was launched in mid-May till mid-October, the Stand for Art program received 179 applications and provided support to 92 artists and cultural actors and technicians from Egypt, Palestine, Yemen, Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Jordan and Iraq. The program team continues to assess the pandemic’s ongoing impact on the arts and culture sector in the Arab region as they strive to support this sector’s practitioners under these extraordinary circumstances.
The exceptional component expands the scope of the Stand for Art program to cover artists and cultural actors and technicians throughout the Arab region who have suffered hardship due to the unusual circumstances precipitated by the Covid-19 pandemic, above all by the cancellation of the cultural and artistic activities and the closure of the spaces that host and/or organize them.
