The second round of the Mudawanat program kicked off with an introductory meeting on 22 December 2020 followed by an online workshop during the third week of January, attended by the contributors selected to produce a serial or episodes of Mudawanat podcast. The sessions were presented by the writer and sound arts specialist Rayya Badran (Lebanon) and the artist, music producer and audio content creator Abdellah Hassak (Morocco) in collaboration with Culture Resource’s Mudawanat team.
The workshop covered the history of sound art and the methodologies of audio production with a focus on listening theories. Participants were exposed to recently produced experimental and contemporary audio works and received technical training in digital recording and Production.
Mudawanat, a program organized by Culture Resource in partnership with the British Council, supports the production and distribution of audio content in Arabic on the arts and culture in the region. Mudawanat podcast is a living archive of contributions documenting the contemporary cultural scene in the Arab region.
