Culture Resource is pleased to announce the grantees of the second round of Mawa3eed for the year 2017. The Mawa3eed grant mirrors Culture Resource’s vision of supporting cultural and artistic exchange between all Arab countries.
Grantees:
Sanaa Seif (Egypt), Student in the Faculty of Languages and Translation: The grant supports her trip from Egypt to Lebanon in order participate as a trainer in ADEF (Arab Digital Expression) camp for youth which seeks to encourage young people from Arab countries to express themselves in artistic and creative ways using digital and non-digital media.
Victoria Dabdoub (Palestine), Architect and Cultural Manager: The grant supports her travel together with six other artists and cultural actors from Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Egypt and Palestine to Morocco, Algeria and Jordan to take part in the Madrassa programme for contemporary curatorial practices and research which is organised by the Atelier de L’Observatoire (Morocco).
Ahmed Maouloud El-Hilal (Mauritania), University Professor and Director of the Nouakchott Short Film Festival: The Mawa3eed grant enables him to invite four trainers and lecturers in filmmaking to conduct workshops organised on the fringes of the Nouakchott Short Film Festival.
Nadine Salib (Egypt), Film Director: The grant supports her travel from Egypt to Lebanon in order participate as a trainer in an ADEF (Arab Digital Expression) camp for youth which seeks to encourage young people from Arab countries to express themselves in artistic and creative ways using digital and non-digital media.
Al Darb Al Ahmar Arts School (Egypt): The school received a grant to enable a group of its students travel to Morocco to take part in the 10th edition of the International Children’s Folklore Festival which promotes the dissemination of the values of peace and tolerance, especially among children.
