Abdullah Alkafri is an award winning-playwright, theater director, and cultural activist. He is a founding member and the current Executive Director of Ettijahat - Independent Culture, an organization dedicated to supporting Syrian artists and cultural practitioners. Alkafri is also a member of the Selection Committee of the Arab Council for Social Sciences and the board of the 8th IFACCA World Summit on Arts and Culture. He regularly collaborates with the Sundance Institute’s MENA Theater Lab.
