Gannoun was one of the pioneers of Tunisian theater, and was one of the most prominent instructors of theater throughout Tunisia and the region. In 1980, he received his doctorate in theater from the New Sorbonne University. The following year, he formed the troupe Al Masrah Al Odwaye (Organic Theater). In 1985, he transformed a collapsing Baroque-style cinema house into a lively hub for theatrical arts. He was the founder of the first Arab-African Theatrical Research and Training Center, established in 2001. He wrote and directed numerous plays and appeared in a number of Tunisian movie productions. and has received awards from both national and international festivals and was a member of many international committees. Ezzedine Gannoun was one of the founding members of Culture Resource, and served as a member of its artistic board from 2004 until his death on March 29, 2015

Death Comes knocking on "Najma's" door telling her that it will come back to take her in an hour. What could she do? What could she say when she only has 60 minutes left to live? The clock ticks are running into mortality.
