Hania Mroué is the founding director of Metropolis Cinema, the only art house movie theatre in Lebanon, established in 2006. In 2010, Hania founded MC Distribution, a company dedicated to selling and distributing Arab and International independent titles in the MENA region. She is a founding member of the association Beirut DC (1998), to promote and support independent Arab films. For 10 years, she was the Director of Beirut DC’s Arab film Festival “Ayam Beirut al Cinema’iya”. From 2010 to 2012, she was Chief Arab Programmer at the Doha Tribeca Film Festival. She served as a jury member at several prestigious film festivals around the world such as Cannes (Critics Week 2017), and Berlin International Festival (First Feature Competition 2012). She was also a jury member of the Arab Film Prize Award of the Robert Bosch Stiftung from 2013 to 2020.
In 2020, she joined the team of the Marrakesh International Film Festival as a consultant for Arab film programming and industry events.

Arab Arthouse Cinema Workshop
Received a grant to travel from Beirut to Cairo to take part in “Arab Arthouse Cinema Workshop” organized by The Network of Arab Arthouse Screens (NAAS) and Cimatheque, in collaboration with ArteEast. She took part in the workshop as a founding member in “NAAS” and presented Metropolis Art Cinema/Beirut experiment as well as attending the general assembly held on the sidelines of the workshop.
