Performing Arts, Music, Visual Arts, Cinema
KED is a multi-arts performance and exhibition space founded in 2016 in Karantina, Lebanon. Its name, meaning 'river' in Armenian, references a flowing river that brings life to its surrounding lands and communities, as KED aims to do through arts. Over the past five years, KED has produced countless concerts, exhibitions, workshops and community events and has become a vital space for the art scene in Lebanon. The space has hosted several plays such as Caroline Hatem's 'Al Beyt', festivals such as Beirut Design Week, Beirut&Beyond and Beirut SCUM Week and is home to the clubnight of the Beirut Groove Collective and Awkword, Lebanon's first underground stand-up comedy platform.
Part of KED's uniqueness lies in its versatility as it offers multiple possibilities to adapt its indoor and outdoor spaces to the needs of each artistic concept. It's also proactive in co-production, helping artists realize their creative vision and supporting new, innovative and groundbreaking projects.
