The Art book
Books have, and for a very long time, been a cornerstone of the Arabic civilization. Libraries have amassed a wealth of splendid artistic creations that remain cherished in museums all around the world. Think of the decorative or ornamental Quran books, the Maqamat, the literary narratives or the science books about medicine and astronomy. The Art Book presents literary texts accompanied with original art prints that are executed with the use of lithography. The performance will be exhibited as printed pages complemented with text.

Fictional Museum
This exhibit centers on a fictional museum display charting the discovery of the remains of a mythical winged horse with a human head that is part of the Islamic tradition. Baalbaki seeks to challenge the credibility of the museum, asking: “why and how does an artifact presented in a museum give the impression of the utmost credibility and authenticity to the spectator?” This exhibit has been exhibited in Berlin and Beirut in 2011 and will be shown in Cairo for the first time as part of the Redzone festival.
