Round 02
2025
Revolutionary Roads: Destination—Comradeship
Sarri will participate in the fourth edition of the summer school titled “Revolutionary Roads: Destination—Comradeship”, jointly organized by Moderna galerija Ljubljana, the Museum of African Art (Belgrade), and the Museum of Contemporary Art of Montenegro. The program will take him on a journey through three Balkan cities - Ljubljana, Belgrade, and Podgorica - to explore the legacy of Yugoslav socialism, anti-fascist monuments and landmarks, solidarity movements, and the cultural ties of the Non-Aligned Movement. This journey will include lectures, workshops, discussions, and performances, with a special focus on “locally situated knowledge.” The participants will engage with three distinctive museum collections that challenge conventional Western art narratives and the established norms of art history.

Round 03
2022
Fondation Fiminco Residency
Destination: Libya → France
Itinerary: Sarri will attend the 11-month Residency of the Fondation Fiminco in Paris where he will work on an experimental, interdisciplinary art project that blends academic research with digital and installation art. The project aims to deconstruct informal urban expansion in Libya as a possible form of social, political and spacial resistance. It will feature an installation, based on research, representing the diverse layers of Libyan society, political life, and culture. In addition to developing his artistic skills, the residency will offer Sarri the opportunity to broaden his professional relations in Libya and abroad, and to establish a new international artistic network in Paris.
