In October 2006, Ramdan’s program “Hayy” included four album-launching concerts for
four musical groups entitled New Orient Sounds. The four albums were produced by the Lebanese production company Incognito. Free promotional CDs were distributed at the ceremony, including sample works of the groups: AL Dor Al Awal, Sharkiat Fathy Salama, Riad Abdel Gawad & his group and Mazica We Bass.

The concerts took place on the following dates:

Friday Oct. 13th

EL-Dor El-Awal launching their album “Karar Ezala”, showcasing the group’s original compositions that fuse oriental music and Jazz.

Saturday Oct. 14th
Sharkiat – Fathy Salama launching “Sultany”, the internationally acclaimed group’s first release in Egypt. Fathy Salama’s compositions and improvisations are built on a deep knowledge of the Arab heritage, in a conceptual approach interbreeding between folklores, traditional oriental music and Jazz

Tuesday Oct. 17th
Riad Abdel Gawad & the Ensemble, launching of the new album for composer and musician Riad Abdel Gawad, oriental pieces for the violin and the Ensemble presented by a group of the most distinguished Egyptian musicians.

Wednesday Oct. 18th

Mazica We Bass, launching of this fresh group’s first album, introducing original compositions. The group comprises of some of the most renowned young Egyptian musicians such as Hazem Shahin (Lute), Hany Bdeir (percussions) and others.

A press Conference was held at Makan – The Egyptian Center for Culture and Arts – on Thursday 12 October to announce the four albums launching, attended by Mr. Tony Sfeir, Director of Incognito.
