16 young musicians from ِAzerbaijan, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia and Uzbekistan
Remix Asia is a creative encounter for musicians from Arab countries and Central Asia. It gives them the opportunity to combine and experiment with diverse music traditions from both regions where they share old traditions and culture.
This year’s platform will take place in Alexandria, from the7th to the 11th of October 2009 under the supervision of Khaled Mohammed Ali (Iraq), Charbel Rouhana (Lebanon) and Alim Qasimov (Azerbaijan).
The platform will be concluded with a performance tour of the work of the artists in Cairo, Damascus and Aleppo.
Remix is organized by Culture Resource (Al Mawred Al Thaqafi) as part of the organization’s efforts to support a new generation of Arab artists. This year’s platform is held in cooperation with the Aga Khan Trust for Culture and the High Music Institute in Damascus.
