against Sexual Harassment
Al Genaina Theatre wraps up its summer programme with The Last Breeze of the Summer on the 30th of November 2007 at 6 pm. The concert will be held, for the first time, by the lake in Al-Azhar Park to add the amazing view to the distinct music of six different bands. The event is also a call for safer streets for all by preventing and eradicating sexual harassment; “Safe Streets for All – Join the Crowds against Sexual Harassment”. This is organized with the collaboration of The New Woman Research Centre and SEMAT, Independent Filmmakers for Production and Distribution. There will also be a screening of a number of short films concerning the cause of sexual harassment in Egypt.

The event will be divided into six parts:

• Wael Khedr & Sameh Ismael , a flamenco duet, will present the first concert. We will listen to original compositions of Spanish Flamenco with Oriental music.

• Following the duo, will be the Egyptian musician Saber Abd El-Satar who won first prize in playing Qanoon in the 2001 international competition held by the league of Arab states in Algeria. He also has been teaching Qanoon at the Opera house since 2001.
• After that we will listen to Mohamad El Sawah who will present a concert of Egyptian folk songs. Sawah comes from a classic musical background; however his musical expression as a trumpeter and a singer covers a wide range of styles. Sawah has recently collaborated with the Swiss world-music group Bazaaris.

• Reggie music comes next with Al Waza band presenting a fusion of African and Reggie music composed by Ahmad Sharhabeel
• Mohamad Ragab and Amr Fathi , members of The Room band, will present their new duet experience called Electronica
• Finally, our stage receives the new Egyptian Rap band Arabian Nights who could find their way to Egyptian youth very easily with their satirical and controversial lyrics and their great rap tunes.
