Barzakh Editions is a publishing house that was founded by Sofiane Hadjaj and Selma Hellal in 2000 in Algiers.
It published works of famous Algerian writers such as Kamel Daoud and Kaouther Adimi and seeks to (re)publish the works of other internationally recognized writers, such as Mohammed Dib and Assia Djebar.
The house has also published key studies in Algerian intellectual and cultural fields. Barzakh has closely collaborated with French, Italian, Arab and other foreign publishing houses.
In 2010, Barzakh editions was honored with the Principal Prince Claus Award from the Netherlands.

Les Enfants du Nouveau Monde - An alliance between Éditions Barzakh, Éditions Motifs, and Meltin'Art
Our desire stems from creating a dynamic collective among the three of us to join our strengths and expertise with a bid to impact the Algerian cultural scene in a creative manner. Our two year collaborative project will involve a series of conferences to be held in Algiers, Oran, and in Kabylie region tackling contemporary problems which will be captured, recorded, dubbed, and disseminated on a wide scale via the internet in the form of sounds and videos. The aim of this project is not to hold a series of recurrent conferences but rather as a “Multi-disciplinary visual” ecosystem that aims to sustain the topics and content that have been discussed.
