Beirut Art Center (BAC) is a non-profit association, space and platform dedicated to experimental and contemporary arts in Beirut, Lebanon. BAC aims to produce, present and contextualize local and international art research and cultural practices in a space that is open, free and active all year long. BAC has sought engagement with various art forms and experiences as well as alternative methods of knowledge production and distribution. The program has hosted local and regional contemporary artists with solo exhibitions and several group shows. The center also facilitates the creation and realization of projects as well as interactions between local and international cultural initiatives. Since 2009, BAC has hosted 66 exhibitions, 358 cultural events and 51 workshops. Under its new direction, BAC continues to create a space for knowledge and creative exchanges, multidisciplinary collaborations, sustainable production, and cultural ecologies, with activities generated from a discursive program of residencies, open forums, workshops, seminars, screenings, project spaces and exhibitions.
