Dergham sarl
Lebanon
Literature
Dergham Sarl was registered as a separate organization in Lebanon in 1999, after branching out from Hassib Dergham & Sons, founded in 1978. The company is divided into two main departments: prepress and publishing. The company's prepress experience spans over 4 decades during which it was able to amass a wealth of experience and cater to the needs of cultural institutions and eminent publishers on a local and foreign scale.
In 2007, the company shifted its focus, giving publishing a more prominent role in the organization. Today, its own publishing house specializes in the publication of books that tackle in-depth society, history and heritage matters related to Lebanon.
Its goal is to shed new light on Lebanon's past and present through documented stories, relying mainly on people's experiences. The company seeks to give its readers the opportunity to have access to realities brought back from the field, which fosters their critical thinking and stimulates democratic debates. In addition to that, translation has always played a major role in Dergham.
