Hassala Films is an independent production house that was founded in 2011 in Cairo by a group of artists who believe in the importance of producing low-budget films, away from the Egyptian mainstream film market. It mainly targets talented new filmmakers who seek a challenge in what they want to say and present. Hassala Films has produced several films since its foundation and has also organized several workshops for free on filmmaking in marginalized communities inside and outside Cairo.

Tamam Project - a partnership between Su Başbuğu representing altKitap, and Abdullah Al-Ghaly representing Hassala Films
Hassala Films from Egypt and altKitap: Free e-Book Publisher from Turkey will try to create a bilingual fiction film based on the daily life stories of Cairo and Istanbul through the means of a short movie and its documentation e-book. The movie will be shot in the two countries and will be written, produced and directed by the two teams which will challenges the difficulties of bilingualism and co-production.
