Mudar Al Haggi

Mudar al Haggi is a Syrian dramaturg, playwright, and cultural manager based in Berlin. He graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts, Department of Dramatic Studies in 2004. For years, he designed interactive activities for children and trained teams offering these activities. Alhaggi participated in several writing workshops and artistic residencies in Europe and the Arab region. He is a founding member of the Street Workshop for Theatrical Writing and a member of Ettijahat - Independent Culture. In 2013, he launched the So On And So Forth project, a series of writing and documentation workshops conducted with Syrian refugees in Beirut, Graz, Dresden, Berlin, and Zurich. In 2017, he founded “Ma’louba”, a collective that presented Arabic theatrical works in Germany and Europe, where he participated as a writer, dramaturg, and director. In 2018, he co-founded the Nawras Foundation to support Syrian artists in Germany.
