Culture Resource has published the Arabic translation of Project Management: A Professional Approach to Events by Jan Verhaar and Iris Eshel. The English original was published by Boom Uitgevers in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 2013.
The book is a useful resource for students and cultural actors interested in cultural management at a time of growing interest in the creative industries and greater professionalism in the organization of events in the arts and culture sector. Consisting of three parts, the book starts with a theoretical introduction to the concepts of the cultural project and project management. It then proceeds to a “Getting Started” section with step-by-step guides for organizing cultural events. The third part presents a “Toolbox” for organizing cultural activities and tips on how to adapt the tools to the needs and practices of cultural actors.
