Majd Al-Shihabi is a systems design engineer from Damascus and one of the co-founders of Palestine Open Maps and the MASRAD collective. His research seeks to activate the infrastructures for knowledge production, as a primary pillar of democratic practice. To this end, he follows open methodologies to expand areas of collaborative work and the commons. He is a PhD candidate at the University of Toronto in the Geography and Planning department, where he studies the relationship between urban planning and climate change, as well as their impact on the ecologies of Palestine and Toronto.
